William "Bill" Reule
ROCK HILL -- William "Bill" Reule, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 9, 2008.
He was married in 1940 to Lucille Marie Houston and had five children. They were married in Medina, N.D., and moved to Rock Hill in 1948. Mr. Reule's grandparents immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1891.
Bill served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. He was best known for his grocery store (Bill's Foodway) on Cherry Road that he opened in 1948 and ran until 1973 and then for his 18 years working with Rinehart Realty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E.A. and Elizabeth Reule, nine brothers and sisters, and daughter-in-law, Teresa Rowland Reule. He is survived by his wife Lucille Marie Houston; five children, William H. Reule Sr. and wife, Faye, David P. Reule and wife, Jan, Geri Rinehart and husband, John, Patty Sexton and husband, Eddie, and the Rev. Edward A. Reule; his brother, Norman L. Reule and wife, Alta Reule, of Appache Junction, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Bill was recognized by Gideon's International in 2007 for his 45 years of service placing Gideon Bibles and for having presented the Gideon message in over 600 churches. He was committed to his faith, family, the Gideons and his church community.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at the First Baptist Church on Dave Lyle Blvd. in Rock Hill. Prior to the memorial service, the family will have a family burial service. Visitation will be held after the memorial service at the church.
