Driver faces DUI charges after nearly colliding with Rock Hill patrol car

A Rock Hill man is facing DUI charges after he narrowly avoided a head-on collision with a Rock Hill police patrol car.

Christopher Jacob Storey, 21, was stopped after a Rock Hill police officer reportedly spotted Storey’s Honda Accord on the wrong side of the line headed directly toward his patrol car on the 1200 block of Amelia Avenue. It was only after the officer honked his horn at Storey that the driver moved back into the correct lane. It was approximately 1:45 p.m.

The officer pulled Storey over, and noted he answered questions with an inaudible response, appeared very lethargic and fumbled for his license and registration.

Storey was instructed to perform several on-scene sobriety tests, on which he performed poorly, and was arrested for DUI. At the city jail, Storey reportedly scored a blood alcohol level of 0.08. He also reportedly told officers he had ingested a large amount of cough suppressant, and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
