Bed, Bath & Beyond will close at least one Charlotte store as partial list released
At least one Charlotte-area Bed, Bath & Beyond store will be closing as the home goods retailer plans to shutter 150 stores nationwide.
Bed, Bath & Beyond will close The Arboretum location at 3413 Pineville-Matthews Road in south Charlotte, according to a company list released Thursday.
It’s unclear when the store will close. Bed, Bath & Beyond officials did not immediately respond for comment Friday.
More BBB stores to close
The list of 56 stores is just more than a third of the stores Bed Bath & Beyond plans to close. In all, the company expects to shutter about 150 stores in the U.S. and cut its workforce by 20% over the next several months.
Last month, the New Jersey-based retailer said it plans to reduce the company’s expenses by about $250 million.
