Floodwaters rose in downtown Georgetown, SC, as Hurricane Ian made landfall in South Carolina.

Downtown Georgetown was submerged under a foot of water as the Category 1 storm swept into the coastal town.

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the town had been flooded Friday, but was uncertain if the floodwaters remained.

At 3 p.m., storm chaser Josh Morgerman posted a video of storm surge that flooded Georgetown’s historic downtown.
