A retired NASCAR driver said Saturday he is expanding his craft-beer business with the opening of another taproom.

Michael Waltrip Taproom will open in Mooresville soon, according to the announcement on Facebook. “Cold beer. Great food. Legendary times,” the announcement read.

Waltrip didn’t say where the taproom would open in Mooresville, nicknamed “Race City USA” for its many NASCAR and other motorsports businesses.

In May, Waltrip opened a taproom in Concord ahead of race week at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Concord taproom, at 7731 Gateway Lane NW, is less than 2 miles from the track where Waltrip made his cup debut in 1985, at the 1985 Coca-Cola World 600.

The two-time Daytona 500 winner and Fox news analyst opened Michael Waltrip Brewing Co. in Bristol, Virginia, two years ago, about 11 miles from Bristol Motor Speedway.

Of 24 taps at the Concord taproom, nine are dedicated to Waltrip’s brewery, The Charlotte Observer previously reported.

Core beers include Two-Time Blonde Ale, Bristol Sunshine Tangerine Ale and Two-Time Vamanos Mexican Lager. Others include Wheelman Brown Ale, Talladega Light and Checkered Past Pale Ale.

The taproom’s sports-themed menu includes burgers, sandwiches, wings and appetizers such as “end zone,” pork belly burnt ends and “the bench,” pretzels with Michael Waltrip dips.
