Catherine Ashley Hall and Benjamin Paul Pettit were married on Saturday, October 25, 2014. The ceremony was held in Tuttle Hall at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina with Reverend Nancy Ennis officiating. Cocktail hour along with dinner and dancing was hosted by the bride’s parents in McBryde Hall at Winthrop University.
Ashley is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Ross Hall of Rock Hill. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Catherine Bostic and the late Mr. Claude Bostic of Lancaster, South Carolina and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Hall of Chester, South Carolina. Ashley is a graduate of Winthrop University and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration. She is employed as a project manager at Garawco Inc. and volunteers for Richardson Animal Rescue.
Paul is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ray Pettit of Rock Hill. He is the grandson of Mrs. Frances Woody and the late Mr. Joel Woody and the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pettit of Pendleton, South Carolina. Paul is a graduate of Northwestern High School and is employed as an internet specialist with Comporium.
Matron of Honor was the bride’s friend, Lindsay Davis McManus of Matthews, North Carolina. Bridesmaids were the bride’s sister-in-law Ashley Ellington Hall of Rock Hill and the bride’s cousin, Regan Lanier Delaney of Wilmington, North Carolina. Best Man was the groom’s father, Ray Pettit of Rock Hill. Groomsmen were brother of the bride Stephen Brent Hall and brother of the groom John Thomas Pettit both of Rock Hill.
The greeter was friend of the bride, Emily Bell Rice. Ring bearer was the nephew of the bride, Landon Ross Hall. Flower girl was niece of the bride, Malia Rose Hall. The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Olive Room in Rock Hill.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The bride wore an elegant gown of ivory Alencon lace on Point D’esprit over champagne luxe satin. The fitted bodice featured a v-shaped neckline with embellished appliques of beaded lace, accented with Swarovski crystals, pearls, and silver backed sequins. The fit and flair silhouette continued into a chapel train with beaded lace and a scalloped edge. She wore her aunt’s bracelet and carried her grandmother’s lace wrapped around her bouquet of cool water and ivory roses. The bride’s cake was designed by Amelie’s French Bakery of NODA in Charlotte.
Wedding festivities included two bridal showers given by family and friends. The bridesmaid’s luncheon was hosted by her aunts Linda Watts and Marsha McNinch.
After honeymooning in Brevard and the Highlands, the couple resides in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
