Brittany Kay Parker and John Walker Brewer were united in marriage on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at six o’clock in the evening at First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, S.C. The ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Doctor Derek William Henry Thomas and Mr. Joseph Michael Crump. Following the service, a reception was held at The Hall at Senate’s End.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Britt Parker, Jr. of Edgemoor, S.C. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and is employed as an Administrative Coordinator by the University of South Carolina in Columbia.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Thomas Brewer of Columbia, S.C. He attended the University of South Carolina Upstate. He is employed in the entertainment industry as a sound technician and event coordinator working with the Township Auditorium and Riverland Hills Baptist Church located in Columbia. Walker also runs and manages his own production company.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.
Mary Anne Thomas of Charlotte, N.C. served as her sister’s Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Amanda Morgan Black of Lakeland, FL, Jordan Anna Nutt of Minneapolis, MN, Leslie Murphy Gaston of Edgemoor, S.C., and Caroline Elizabeth Pinson, Cason Brewer King, and Jennifer Greenwell Hamilton, all of Columbia.
Jeremy Kyle Stewart of Columbia served as best man. Groomsmen included Erich Garland Straughn of Charlotte, N.C., Andrew Jeffrey Peckham of North Augusta, S.C., Walter Hays Pickens, III, of Atlanta, GA, William Alexander Weatherly, III, of West Columbia, and Thomas McClure Brewer and Benjamin Barrett Self, both of Columbia.
Readers were Rachel Kathryn Baxter Adams of Columbia and Teresa Kay Stewart of Seneca, S.C. The greeters were Elashia Mincoya Toni Hall of McDonugh, GA, and Shadiasha Marie King of Columbia.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Friday night at Saluda’s Restaurant.
After a wedding trip to Savannah, GA, the couple will reside in Columbia.
