Jack McBrayer Reveals the '30 Rock' Relics at His House–Yes, He Still Has a Page Uniform (Exclusive)
"Every time we got a new script, it was like Christmas morning," says Jack McBrayer, reminiscing about his time working on 30 Rock.
For seven seasons, McBrayer played Kenneth Parcell, the bright-eyed, television-loving NBC page. And today, more than 13 years after the show ended, the actor still looks back on those memories fondly. In fact, he has a few relics from the 30 Rock set in his house - including one of his original page uniforms! McBrayer tells Parade all about it below.
Jack McBrayer Still Has One of Kenneth's NBC Page Uniforms
"They did give me a page uniform after we wrapped," McBrayer exclusively tells Parade on a recent Zoom call. "I haven't worn it, because that'd be kind of weird..."
However, someone else has worn it: his close friend, actor Alexander Skarsgård.
"We had to go to a Halloween party, and he did not have a costume. I said, 'If you promise not to rip it, you can wear this.' So Alexander Skarsgård went as Kenneth the Page to a Halloween party a few years ago."
Unfortunately, there do not appear to be any photos of this moment on the internet.
"He's like, twice as big as me. I was like, 'Don't rip it,'" McBrayer jokes. "He's such a good actor. He just made himself smaller."
McBrayer also points out that this October will mark 20 years since 30 Rock premiered. "Gonna have to squeeze into that page uniform one more time," he says with a laugh.
Additionally, 30 Rock's props department gave McBrayer "a couple of Kenneth type things" when the show wrapped, including some decor from Stone Mountain, Georgia, which was his character's hometown.
Jack McBrayer Has Many Photos From the 30 Rock Set in His House
McBrayer also has a bunch of photos taken behind-the-scenes when filming 30 Rock on display in a guest bedroom in his house.
"I did take a lot of photos during the course of 30 Rock," McBrayer says. "I would take photos with all of our famous guest stars. We had so many guest stars."
Guest stars on 30 Rock included Mary Steenburgen, Elizabeth Banks, Michael Keaton, Jennifer Aniston, Robert De Niro, Vice President Al Gore, Oprah Winfrey, Peter Dinklage, Whoopi Goldberg, Steve Martin... the list goes on.
"Those photos lived in my dressing room [during taping]," McBrayer says. "Now I display them in one of the guest rooms. I was like, it might be too narcissistic to just have them in my own room. 'Oh, I'm gorgeous! Look at me, look how many famous people!'"
