Charlize Theron is getting candid about why she prefers not to live with a partner.

During a recent appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show," the "Apex" star, 50, reflected on how raising daughters Jackson, whom she adopted in 2012, and August, whom she adopted in 2015, has impacted her dating life.

"My kids are at an age now where they actually enjoy that I’m dating because they want to be involved," she told host Drew Barrymore. "It’s really funny how I was scared they’d be threatened by it, and now they’re like, ‘Mom, is he texting you? Like, go on the date, mom.' They get so into it, which is really sweet. So, it's something that I share with them."

Despite her children's support, Theron isn't interested in having a partner move in anytime soon, explaining, "I really mean this, people think I joke, I don’t think I could ever live with somebody again."

"I would love for you to be close, like buy the house down the street, but I don’t know if I can," she added. "Maybe it’s because I still have my daughters in the house, and maybe that will change when I’m an empty nester, but I’m looking for something very specific."

"I love also prioritizing my kids and that has never felt like the wrong move for me and seem the way," responded Barrymore, who shares daughters Olive and Frankie with ex Will Kopelman.

"It’s impossible not to. Your kids come first. They always come first," Theron added.

While appearing on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast last year, Theron admitted she has "zero interest" in dating someone in the entertainment industry.

When Cooper questioned if she wanted "a man in the industry," the actress replied, "No, my god. No, no, no."

"I don’t think that dating somebody in my industry is a smart thing," she added. "I’m not saying it’s impossible. I’m not saying that it’s not binary. I just think that in general it’s not a good thing for me."
