Why Golden Retrievers love their toys
It's not an unusual behavior for a Golden Retriever to become attached to their toys. In fact, it's a part of their nature.
According to Füzi Pets, Golden Retrievers were born with the ability to "carry things gently in their mouths," and toys are no exception.
For them, Goldens bringing their parents their favorite toy can represent their "modern-day catch" and also be a sign of affection or a nice way to greet their parents after a long day away from home.
Dogs also have "sensory memory," which means they associate smells and the feel of things with specific memories. Which is why once they select a toy, it will provide a sense of comfort because it reminds them of their parents and home.
