People spend a lot of money trying to attract birds to their yards.

Meanwhile, Mourning Doves just move in and act like they've signed a lease.

One lucky homeowner recently discovered they had some very adorable new tenants, and honestly, I'd probably start referring to the flower box as "the nursery" immediately.

TikTok user @fredcastillo957 shared the sweet clip, which shows an adorable pair of Mourning Doves snuggled together with their tiny babies inside a flower box nest.

The whole bird family looks like they posed for an official holiday card. The parents are cuddled up side by side while the fuzzy little chicks peek out from underneath them, creating enough cuteness to temporarily cure all my problems.

And can we talk about Mourning Dove nests for a second? These birds are famous for gathering approximately three sticks, a leaf, and positive thinking, and somehow deciding, "Yep. That's a house."

Honestly, I respect the confidence.

The comments section was filled with fellow Mourning Dove fans.

"I love Mourning Dove nests. They find like 3 sticks and a piece of chewing gum and call it good," one person joked.

"The way these doves cuddle together is too precious," another viewer wrote.

"Mourning Doves are such beautiful, sweet birds that make such soothing sounds. What a beautiful family," someone else commented.

Another person pointed out, "They literally posed for a family photo."

One experienced bird lover shared an important reminder: The babies would likely leave the nest soon and may spend time hiding under nearby bushes while learning to fly.

As someone who spends way too much time watching birds in my yard, I completely understand becoming emotionally invested in a family you've never technically met.

Fun Facts About Mourning Doves

Mourning Doves are one of the most common birds in North America and are known for their soft cooing sounds, which many people find calming and peaceful.

Despite their sometimes questionable construction skills, Mourning Doves are devoted parents. Both Mom and Dad help incubate eggs and care for the babies after they hatch.

Baby Mourning Doves grow surprisingly quickly and usually leave the nest about two weeks after hatching, although they often remain nearby while continuing to learn important survival skills.

And yes, their nests really are famously terrible.

Bird people lovingly joke that Mourning Doves build homes with the enthusiasm of college students assembling furniture without reading the instructions.

Yet somehow, it works.

Which honestly feels like a life lesson.
