You shouldn't spend your whole day staring at screens, but sometimes, a little TV is crucial entertainment. Just ask this hairless cat who's been completely transfixed by a Cat TV VHS tape from 2001.

Lindsey Kuzmin uploads the life and times of her adorable hairless cats, Marshall and Leela, to her own content machine on YouTube, and this clip is just too quirky not to share.

"Seeing if my cat will watch cat TV from 2001," the video caption reads, and oh, does Leela watch.

"She Is Completely Invested"

We're not sure if Kuzmin just happened to have a CRT television with a built-in VHS player lying around, or how she got her paws on this awesome slice of turn-of-the-century media, but it was all well worth it to see Leela positively glued to the screen.

As Leela inches toward the TV, pawing at the birds and fish that pop up in bright, eye-catching colors, we recall our own happy childhoods spent sitting on couches with smiley-face pillows-or at least that's what we wish our room had looked like in the early 2000s.

Leela curls up in a big blanket and gets lost in the film; the picture-perfect afternoon for a cool cat.

"Leela is such a homebody," one commenter says.

"She is completely invested," another laughs.

"It's like finding older media and realizing 'wow, they actually put effort in back then. This is amazing,' and getting hooked on a nearly 30 year old show,'" another relates.

What Is Cat TV?

Cat TV started on VHS tapes but now lives on via YouTube and other streaming platforms. The visuals play directly into cats' hunting instincts, providing bona fide mental stimulation for your pet by flashing close-up footage of singing birds, swaying foliage, swimming fish and other feline delights.

While it might seem silly on the surface, it really does entertain your cat, keeping them from feeling overly anxious in strange environments or indulging in destructive behavior around the home.

Of course, some cats may ultimately become frustrated with Cat TV once they learn they can't actually "catch" the fish, birds and other creatures on screen, but some cats, like Leela, love to get cozy on the couch and enjoy the view.
