▪ Rock Hill Parks, Recreation and Tourism is offering a free Olympic Day Saturday at the Novant Health BMX Supercross Track, 1307 Riverwalk Parkway.
The event is just one of over 1,800 Olympic Day events planned throughout the United States to promote and celebrate Olympic values and sports participation.
Rock Hill’s Olympic Day offers youth and adults the opportunity to receive a free USA BMX one-day license (for new participants) and to use the pump track and race on the BMX track without the usual membership fee.
Registration and practice will be 9-10:30 a.m. with racing beginning at 11 a.m. To participate, bring a bike and full face helmet (limited number of bikes and helmets available at the track for $10 rental fee).
Full face helmets, long pants and long sleeved shirts are required; gloves, knee and elbow pads are recommended. Information at novanthealthbmx.com or call 803-326-2441.

▪ The Fort Mill History Museum will host a Garden Party, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the White Homestead featuring Peter Bonner of the “Saving Tara” project. Bonner is behind the effort to restore and permanently display the facade of Tara Plantation from “Gone With the Wind.” Tickets are $45 and must be purchased in advance by calling 803-802-3646.
▪ North Central Family Medical Center will have a voter registration drive, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at 1131 Saluda St., Rock Hill.
Fundraisers
▪ Bethesda Community yard sale, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, 4858 McConnells Highway. Food and drinks available. Rain or shine. Proceeds to Scouting and youth activities.
▪ Pancake Breakfast fundraiser for the York County Christian Women’s Job Corps will be 8-10 a.m. Saturday at Fatz Restaurant on Herlong Avenue, Rock Hill. ▪ The Silver Fox Club, sponsored by the Upper Palmetto YMCA, fall trip is “Chicago: the Windy City,” Sept. 12-17. The tour led by Christian Tour will include an overnight stop in Louisville, Ky.; then on to Chicago for the Skydeck, Museum of Science and Industry, Omnimax Theater, a Chicago Riverboat tour, Field Museum of Natural History and Michigan Avenue sights; and to the Cincinnati area for the Genesis Creation Museum and the new Ark Encounter.
