Disney Cruise Line to double sailings from West Coast port
As Disney Cruise Line expands across the globe to bring the magic of Disney at sea to new audiences, the company is also doubling down on its commitment to the West Coast.
Although its newest cruise ships recently launched in Singapore and Florida, Disney's multi-year expansion plan also involves increasing its cruise offerings in other regions, like Texas and California. And Disney fans don't have wait long for expanded cruise options from popular ports.
Disney Cruise Line will kick off its West Coast expansion this fall with two ships sailing from San Diego, and even more options for a magical cruise vacations from Southern California on the horizon.

Disney Cruise Line expands Port of San Diego homeport partnership
Disney Cruise Line and the Port of San Diego extended their homeport partnership through at least 2031 with an agreement that's set to approximately double the number of Disney cruises sailing from San Diego each year.
Disney's expansion in San Diego will bring a broader range of seasonal itineraries and more frequent departures for magical cruise vacations to Catalina Island, Baja, and the Mexican Riviera.

More than one million Disney cruise passengers are expected to sail from the port during the course of the agreement, which secures Disney non-exclusive priority access to the port's North and South berths at the B Street cruise terminal. This priority access will enhance the arrival experience for passengers while also helping the port better plan and maximize the use of its cruise ship terminals.
"San Diego has been an important part of our West Coast operations for more than a decade, and a place our guests love sailing from," said Disney Cruise Line Development & Operations Vice President of Port Strategy Jose Fernandez. "This new agreement supports our long-term growth and helps us continue contributing to the region's economy."
Two Disney cruise ships to sail from San Diego this fall
Disney Cruise Line's expansion in San Diego will begin this October as the Disney Magic arrives on the West Coast to sail three- to seven-night voyages through November followed by a 14-night Panama Canal transit to Galveston, Texas.
The Disney Wonder will also sail from San Diego beginning in October, and extend its San Diego homeport season through April 2027, offering three- to seven-night itineraries to destinations including Catalina Island, Cabo San Lucas, Ensenada, and Puerto Vallarta.

While the Disney Magic will sail a short season from San Diego in 2026, the new agreement could mean that future seasons will include a longer series of sailings across two ships. Perhaps Disney will even bring a newer ship to San Diego to support its growth on the West Coast.
