Holland America Line is elevating its popular Orange Party with a new lineup of specialty cocktails crafted as part of a well-matched partnership grounded in shared heritage.

The signature party featured on all Holland America Line sailings, the Orange Party brings a unique experience to cruises that immerses passengers in Dutch culture no matter where in the world they're sailing - from Alaska to Asia and beyond. Founded in Rotterdam, Netherlands in 1873, Holland America Line weaves its Dutch heritage into its onboard experience in spirited, orange-accented ways, culminating with its iconic orange bash.

Inspired by Koningsdag, a huge celebration of national pride in vibrant orange in the Netherlands, Holland America Line's Orange Party invites cruise travelers to take part in Dutch-inspired festivities at sea by packing fun orange outfits to enjoy a night of festive entertainment, dancing, and cocktails - now enhanced through a fitting new partnership.

Holland America Line partners with Bols for new Orange Party cocktails

Holland America Line has partnered with Bols, the world's oldest cocktail brand rich in Dutch heritage and craftsmanship, to introduce authentic Dutch flavors and mixology to the Orange Party.

Passengers will be able to kick off the festive event with a welcome cocktail served in a traditional jenever glass featuring a specially crafted Bols cocktail, complemented by classic garnishes like stroopwafel and hagelslag.

"Holland America Line and Bols are two brands deeply rooted in Dutch heritage with a shared commitment to innovation, craftmanship and quality," said Drew Foulk, director of food and beverage revenue and innovation at Holland America Line. "Collaborating with Bols for the Orange Party allows us to bring authentic Dutch flavors, creative mixology and immersive experiences to life, giving guests a celebration they'll remember long after their cruise."

"Bols has been part of Dutch culture for over four centuries, and we are thrilled to partner with Holland America Line, a time-honored brand that shares our Dutch roots and dedication to exceptional experiences," said Quirijn de Koning, brand director at Bols. "Together, we are elevating the Orange Party with exclusive cocktails that are as fun and vibrant as the celebration itself."

Holland America Line cruises offer Dutch cuisine, Royal Dutch Tea

Along with new Bols cocktails, Holland America Line's enhanced Orange Party celebration will offer limited-edition Dutch collectibles for purchase and memorable photo moments surrounded by festive décor that transforms the shipboard venue into an immersive Dutch experience.

In addition to the Orange Party, every Holland America cruise features Dutch Day, a themed day with traditional Dutch cuisine, special menus, and cultural treats like poffertjes. Royal Dutch Tea is served as part of afternoon tea services on sea days, and Grand Dutch Cafe on the cruise line's Pinnacle Class ships serves Dutch treats like Bossche Bol and Apple and Bacon Pannenoek.

Holland America Line's Dutch roots come with strong ties to the House of Orange-Nassau, the Dutch royal family. A member of the Dutch Royal Family has served as godparent for 12 Holland America Line ships, starting with Prince Hendrik launching Statendam III in 1929. Most recently, Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands named Rotterdam in 2022.
