Royal Caribbean continues to go big on diverse cruise dining as it builds out its Icon Class of the world's largest cruise ships. The cruise line designed the Icon Class to offer dining options for every occasion and mood, and introduced new venues like an upscale supper club concept and its first cruise ship food hall, AquaDome Market.

A complimentary dining option featuring a variety of food stalls, AquaDome Market is a popular spot for a quick bites and casual meals for passengers looking for an alternative to the traditional cruise buffet.

Royal Caribbean introduced five different food stalls at AquaDome Market on Icon of the Seas with flavors ranging from sweet crepes to macaroni and cheese, fresh pitas, Asian-inspired entrees, and sandwiches and salads. On Star of the Seas, Royal Caribbean enhanced the lineup with three new stalls serving barbecue pulled pork and beef brisket, South American staples like empanadas and arepas, and Thai food favorites.

Royal Caribbean is continuing to evolve the cruise food hall to bring new flavors as it moves forward with a plan to expand the Icon Class to a fleet of seven ships over the next few years. Here's a look at what passengers can expect from the AquaDome Market on Royal Caribbean's upcoming Icon Class ships.

Food hall enhancements are coming to Hero of the Seas

With two more Icon Class cruise ships currently under construction and two more on order, Royal Caribbean is already working on the next enhancements to the AquaDome Market.

Royal Caribbean recently sent a survey to select passengers to gather feedback on potential dishes to serve at its onboard food hall, as reported by Royal Caribbean Blog, a fan blog not affiliated with the cruise line.

The survey options suggested that Royal Caribbean is considering shaking up future food hall options with a stall focused on comfort food-style deli sandwiches, wraps, and snacks. Food choices on the survey included a Philly cheesesteak, grilled cheese, a Reuben sandwich, a chicken salad wrap, a pesto tomato panini, and pretzel bites.

Some of those food options could become part of the menu for a food stand on Hero of the Seas, Royal Caribbean's fourth Icon Class ship debuting in 2027, which will feature four new stalls alongside Crème de la Crêpe and the Simply Pressed juice bar.

With Hero's AquaDome Market, Royal Caribbean plans to reimagine food stalls so they're less tied to a cuisine and can be updated to introduce new concepts later on.

"We will always debut with five really well-tested concepts, but we're also going to design the stalls to no longer be so specific to a cuisine so that we can start to bring in different ideas and test it with guests as time goes on," Royal Caribbean Senior Director of Product Development Jennifer Goswami said in a cruise line video about what's new on Hero of the Seas.
