York County Regional Chamber of Commerce honors community leaders

Two people who have served York County for more than four decades were honored Thursday by the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Glenn McFadden, who retired from Comporium last year as its executive vice president and chief operating officer, and Pam Morrell, of Keller Williams Realty, were awarded the lifetime business achievement award and the citizenship and service award, respectively.

The honors were given at the chamber’s annual dinner at Events at Manchester in Rock Hill. More than 450 attended Thursday’s dinner.

McFadden is known for his career at Comporium as well as his community service.

He was past chairman of the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce and member of the Board of Visitors for the University of South Carolina-Lancaster, the Rock Hill Economic Development Corp. board, and the YMCA board.

McFadden is also chairman of the board of directors for the S.C. Department of Natural Resources.

He is an avid outdoorsman who has traveled the world hiking and hunting. He almost made it to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. For that trip, he raised $30,000 for the Orphans of Kenya.

Morrell is one of the top-producing real estate agents in York County and the region, being named a Top 10 producer for Keller Williams Realty every year since 2006.

Morrell is an active York County Regional Chamber of Commerce member, a member of Winthrop’s Presidential Advisory Board, and a recipient of the “Order of the Palmetto.”
