Dunkin’ Donuts and Krispy Kreme will celebrate National Donut Day on Friday with free doughnuts.
Dunkin’ Donuts will give out a free doughnut with the purchase of any beverage. Krispy Kreme’s offer doesn’t require a purchase.
Donut Day, which began in 1938, commemorates Salvation Army workers serving coffee and doughnuts to soldiers in the trenches during World War I. The holiday is celebrated on the first Friday of June.
