Firehouse Subs coming to Rock Hill

Firehouse Subs is coming to Rock Hill in the new Hickory Tavern retail center on Celanese Road.

The restaurant will occupy 1,800 square feet in the center near the intersection of Celanese and India Hook roads. The anticipated opening date is this fall for Firehouse Subs and Hickory Tavern.

Firehouse Subs serves meats and cheeses on a toasted sub roll. Their number one selling sub is the “Hook & Ladder” with smoked turkey breast and Virginia honey ham smothered with Monterey Jack cheese.

The restaurant was founded by brothers and former firefighters Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen.

The Hickory Tavern retail center is being developed by the Warren Norman Co. of Rock Hill. The center is about 15,000 square feet and should have about six tenants when finished, Warren Norman said Thursday. The remaining tenants are expected to be retail, he said.

The recruitment of Firehouse Subs was about a four-year effort, Norman said. The initial signing of Hickory Tavern helped secure Firehouse Subs, he said.
