3D Systems makes Forbes’ innovative growth list

3D Systems of Rock Hill has been selected as one of Forbes’ World’s Most Innovative Growth Companies for 2015.

The company was 18th on this year’s list, the highest ranking among technology hardware and equipment companies.

Forbes’ annual World’s Most Innovative Growth Companies index selects the top 100 companies with market capitalization under $10 billion that have demonstrated continued growth through innovation. Companies are ranked by their “innovation premium.”

▪ Comporium’s most recent phase of deploying Zipstream, its gigabit broadband service, is complete. The high-speed internet service is available to residents of 75 fiber-to-the-home neighborhoods in Fort Mill and the panhandle of Lancaster County.

Comporium first deployed Zipstream to businesses in downtown Rock Hill last June as part of the city’s Knowledge Park economic development plan. In addition to downtown Rock Hill, the company has now deployed Zipstream to 14 area business parks.

▪ Dr. Ann Kirol has opened a new dental office, Carolina Smile Design, at 1721 Ebenezer Road, Suite 105 in the Village Oaks Professional Park near the corner of Ebenezer Road and Herlong Avenue. Office hours are Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with select Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon. Dr. Kirol has practiced general, family, and cosmetic dentistry in the area for the past 16 years. She has served on the Department of Health and Environmental Control Board of Directors since 2011 as the 5th Congressional District Representative.

▪ Blush Nail Bar & Spa is opening its second location in Rock Hill at the Hickory Tavern retail center at 2674 Celanese Road. The anticipated opening date is the fall of 2015. The spa, which specializes in nail, wax and massage services, also has a location at 1460 Meeting Boulevard.

▪ The S.C. Small Business Development Center recently presented Roger Weikle, dean of the College of Business Administration of Winthrop University with its Partner of Distinction Award.

The Partner of Distinction Award is given to an individual or organization who demonstrates exceptional understanding and support of the S.C. Small Business Development Center’s mission, capabilities and economic impact.
