Fort Mill Economic Partners adds someone who knows how to plan big as its new director
Fort Mill Economic Partners has a new leader.
Mariah Price is the new executive director. Price takes over for LeAnne Morse who left the organization last year. Price is a Clemson University graduate whose family moved to Fort Mill when she was in middle school. Price is a wedding planner for Wren and Chick Events.
“There are many things that I am looking forward to in this role, however, one of my favorites is to be able to be more involved in the community and serve alongside the rest of the organization,” Price said. “I know I will learn a lot from the board and hopefully will be an asset to them as well.”
Fort Mill Economic Partners began in 2005. The nonprofit includes members of top area employers who advocate for economic development in the town. Recent work includes a partnership with the town and Winthrop University to study a Carolina Thread Trail connection from the Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill to Riverwalk in Rock Hill.
The group has been involved in business efforts like promotion of the Bailey Bill, which creates financial incentives for redevelopment of historic properties, and in annual events like the South Carolina Strawberry Festival.
Fort Mill Economic Partners aims to improve the economic and social well-being of Fort Mill by building local wealth, diversifying the economy, attracting and retaining jobs, identifying business-friendly resources and advancing quality-of-life issues.
