A new banking option is on the way to Rock Hill. Here’s what it will offer
First Community Bank will open a new location in Rock Hill, to expand the footprint of the South Carolina company.
First Community is based in Lexington. According to a company release, the bank will open a new loan production office in Rock Hill. Rock Hill native Catherine Faircloth will lead the expansion as regional market president.
The loan production office will be followed by a full-service bank in the Rock Hill area. The company cites the size of York County and Rock Hill among South Carolina municipalities, and other area offerings, from Winthrop University to the coming Carolina Panthers headquarters, that made Rock Hill attractive for expansion. President and chief banking officer Ted Nissen said in the company release it’s important in a new market to find what makes it distinct.
“The Rock Hill region is an economic force of its own yet retains a great mix of traditional businesses as well as new ones in technology and other modern industries,” Nissen said, “all while being recognized as one of the best places to live.”
The bank also intends to serve the growing Fort Mill and Tega Cay markets, through expansion into the York County region.
First Community began in 1995. The bank has 21 full-service offices and more than 250 employees in South Carolina and Georgia. The bank specializes in commercial and retail banking, residential mortgage lending and financial planning.
