Hundreds more Indian Land, Lancaster County homes, townhomes and apartments pitched
Hundreds more homes, apartments and townhomes are proposed in Lancaster County.
The county planning commission will hear three cases on March 15 that could add new residences in Indian Land and beyond.
A 261-unit residential project on the north side of Fort Mill Highway will come up for approval. The Lodges would be on 39 acres just east of Rosemont Boulevard. Early last year, Lancaster County Council approved 217 units there with 80 townhomes, 63 cottage style homes and 74 garden style apartments. The new plan is similar, but with more apartments to make the proposed 261 total units.
A community meeting on the project is scheduled for 6 p.m. March 14, at Pleasant Hill UMC in Indian Land.
A separate item on the planning commission agenda involves a proposed subdivision at the corner of S.C. 9 and Catoe Road. A submitted sketch plan shows 79 new home sites. About a third of the sites front one of the two roads. The 39-acre project involves traditional homes.
The planning commission also will hear a rezoning case for a project that was deferred a month ago, the Llewellyn subdivision. Llewellyn is a proposed 38-acre property on the west side of Harrisburg Road, across from Estates at Covington. The site includes land at the corner of Harrisburg and Barberville Road.
The application submitted for Llewellyn doesn’t list how many homes are proposed.
