A cookie chain is quickly expanding in the Charlotte region, with two store openings within a week.

Crumbl Cookies, based in Utah, will open Friday at 13551 Steelecroft Parkway in Steele Creek, near Luigi’s Pizza in the former State Farm insurance spot. Take-out, curbside and delivery will begin June 15. Crumbl also offers catering.

The new take-out-only Charlotte store opens one week after opening at 7756 Charlotte Hwy. in Indian Land, S.C.

Steele Creek franchise owner Teri Alexander and husband Greg moved to Charlotte about 10 months ago from Columbus, Ohio, to be near family and to open the Crumbl store.

Alexander became a Crumbl repeat customer because of the cookies and customer service.

“But what really drew me was they were making the cookies,” she said, noting the cookies are not prepackaged or pre-made.

Crumbl Cookies’ menu

Crumbl’s menu rotates four to five specialty cookies weekly with over 200 types of snacks.

“Expect fresh-baked cookies warm or chilled,” Alexander said.

Milk chocolate chip is always a staple, according to the website. Other flavors this week, for example, include snickerdoodle cupcake, buttermilk pancake, orange creamsicle, lemon blackberry and iced oatmeal, according to Crumbl’s website.

The store also has half-pints of ice cream with six flavors that rotate seasonally.

About Crumbl Cookies

The five-year-old company has more than 370 stores in over 40 states, according to Crumbl Cookies.

There are six Charlotte-area stores, including one at 7918A Rea Road in Charlotte, as well as in Matthews, Huntersville, Concord, Tega Cay, S.C., and Gastonia.

The 1,500-square-foot Steele Creek store has about 70 full- and part-time employees, Alexander said.

All stores are open 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to midnight Friday-Saturday.
