Whether you’re preparing for a big holiday or celebrating with some retail therapy, the calendar turn from Thanksgiving to December is big business for shops and shoppers alike.

So, which places do it best?

The Herald wants to know which locally owned retail spots you think fit the bill as the best in the region.

Places that have items you can’t find elsewhere, or have enough variety to mark off whole columns of names on a Christmas list. Or the hidden gems you’d recommend to a new neighbor. Bonus points if it’s a shop that wasn’t around this time last year, and is setting up for its first holiday season rush.

Just fill in the name of your favorite locally owned shop in the box below. You can include several shops if you like. The Herald will take those suggestions and feature some for a listing of places for its readers to try.

Then, happy shopping!
