Two new businesses are official in a growing residential and commercial part of Fort Mill.

Vulcan Property Group announced two new tenants at South Mill at Elizabeth. The 1,300 homes, townhomes and apartments at the new Elizabeth neighborhood under development by homebuilder Lennar are surrounded by commercial areas along Fort Mill Parkway and Spratt Street.

The property is near U.S. 21 — on the Fort Mill mill side of the Catawba River bridge heading to Rock Hill.

South Mill is under construction, and the first buildings should be ready early next year. The Vault Fort Mill is an 85,000-square-foot storage business. South Mill still has 18,000 square feet of restaurant or retail space, and a 15,000-square-foot flex building planned.

The new announcements are adult daycare site Town Square and Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry.

“The southern side of Fort Mill is the fastest growing part of town with thousands of homes recently built or under construction along with multiple new schools,” said Vulcan Property Group partner Scott Watson, “however the area lacks significant retail opportunities.”

Town Square is a therapy day center for people with dementia. The site uses what the company calls immersive reminiscence therapy, where the site is set up like a mid-20th century community to replicate times when memories are strongest for clients. Town Square has eight locations across the country, and 15 more coming.

The new dentist office will be 4,000 square feet. The site will offer family, cosmetic, orthodontic, surgical, pediatric and other dental services.

In addition to South Mill, developer MPV Properties has almost 80 acres of commercial property in the Elizabeth area listed either as sold, under contract or available.
