Popular California burger chain is opening another store in the Charlotte area

A popular California burger restaurant is expanding again in the Charlotte area, as the chain opens its sixth North Carolina store at Lake Norman.

The Habit Burger Grill, known for its cooked-to-order chargrilled burgers, will debut Feb. 7 at 7266 NC-73 Highway in Denver, the company told The Charlotte Observer on Tuesday.

The restaurant will be in the same Catawba Springs Promenade shopping center as another flame-grilled burger chain competitor, Burger King.

Habit Burger’s Denver store is part of its expansion plan to open 15 stores in the Charlotte region. It’s the third Charlotte-area store to open in the past year. In September, Habit Burger opened at 379 W. Plaza Drive in Mooresville after opening a store last February at 2121 W. Roosevelt Blvd. in Monroe.
