Charlotte Douglas airport lands new lounge expansion from Capitol One

Credit card giant Capital One is making plans to open a new lounge for passengers at Charlotte’s airport.

The 14,000-square-foot space will feature airfield views, locally influenced menus, a coffee bar and workspaces, according to a Thursday announcement from Charlotte Douglas International Airport. It will be on the mezzanine level of Concourse A, near gates 21–29.

Capital One customers enrolled in different tiers of the Venture travel reward programs can receive complimentary access or pay a fee for themselves and guests, depending on their membership level, according to the company’s website for lounges. All other travelers, including non-cardholders, can enter for $90.

The Capital One plan is among the latest expansion of amenities at the airport.

Last year, American Airlines announced plans for lounges with feature comfortable seating, bars and dining areas. Other services include private spaces with spa-style shower suites, workstations and a kid-friendly family room.
