Fuel Pizza has closed at Rock Hill’s Manchester Village shopping center, and a new hibachi restaurant is planning to open in its place.

Fuel opened in Rock Hill in 2008, the ninth pizzeria opened by Jeremy Wladis, Fuel founder, and his partners. It replaced the Roly Poly sandwich shop.

Customers seeking a Fuel fix are encouraged to visit the chain’s Steele Creek location at RiverGate off N.C. 49 in Charlotte.

Sake Japan Hibachi and Romen is coming soon to the site, according to a sign posted on the door. An opening date has not been announced.

Fuel is the second eatery to close in Manchester in recent months. In August, Marble Slab Creamery closed after five years.
