Four regional companies honored for workplace safety

The South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance recently honored four regional companies from among the 114 industrial facilities statewide honored for workplace safety accomplishments during 2015.

Regional winners were Duke Energy for operations in Fort Mill, York County and Lancaster County; Fomas USA of York; PBI Performance Products of Rock Hill; and Springs Creative of Rock Hill.

Facilities with a low rate of incidents resulting in lost workdays, job transfers or restrictions were nominated for recognition. Plants submitting an incidence rate below the statewide average for their NAICS code received an award during the 2016 Safety Summit.

▪ TBC Corporation has rebranded 29 Merchant’s Tire & Auto Service Center locations in North and South Carolina to NTB Tire and Service Centers, better known as National Tire and Battery. The rebranding initiative included an exterior refresh, interior redesign and delivery of a fully integrated marketing plan educating customers about the New Name, Same Great Service.

▪ TUESDAY – Lunch Mob at Captain Steve’s Seafood Restaurant at 11:30 a.m., US 21 Bypass, Fort Mill, sponsored by the Buy Into It!, the local shopping program of the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce. A Lunch Mob is an opportunity for you to join in supporting a local Chamber member, make connections, and enjoy lunch. There is no cost to attend, however each guest pays for their own lunch. ▪ APRIL 7 – The Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce will host a Buyers Forum at City Hall, 216 South Catawba Street in the council chambers from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. The event is designed to educate small business owners on how they can be included on the vendor list to sell products and services to some of Lancaster County’s larger businesses.
