7 patty burger challenge part of Hwy 55 Burgers grand opening in Rock Hill
Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries at 4859 Old York Road is holding a grand opening ceremony Saturday with an old-school 50’s-style party and hamburger eating challenge.
The celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. will feature a live DJ, a Classic Car Cruise-in with three car clubs participating and a donation to Lancaster's Dream Team.
At noon there will be the 55 Challenge, Hwy 55’s hamburger eating contest. The winner receives a four-month membership to LA Fitness and a $55 Hwy 55 gift card.
The 55-ounce burger with seven patties and at least four trimmings on a bun comes with fries and a 24-ounce drink. If a guest can eat it all in 30 minutes, it’s free and Hwy 55 will put the guest’s name on its website. If the guest is unable to finish the meal in 30 minutes, it costs $29.99.
The Andy’s Foundation and franchise owners donated 10 percent of its sales the first three days open to the local Dream Team Foundation, whose mission is to enrich the lives of special needs children through various sports activities.
