A Columbia-based commercial cabinet maker plans to hire 125 people when it opens a new shop in Rock Hill.

CABTEQ Solutions offers design, manufacturing and installation services. The company serves a variety of markets, including dental and medical offices.

The company will spend $3 million on an 80,000-square-foot facility at 150 Mount Gallant Road. Hiring will begin immediately.

“It’s very gratifying to partner with the state of South Carolina and York County in building our workforce and having positive economic and social impacts on our region and my hometown of Rock Hill,” CABTEQ President Ben Chapman said. “I am extremely proud of my hometown and look forward to serving it for years to come.”

The state Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved a $150,000 grant for York County to help pay the costs of property improvements.

“It is refreshing to continue to see companies like CABTEQ take pride in investing in their hometown, bringing significant jobs and opportunity to our county,” York County Council Chairman Britt Blackwell said.
