Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill is no longer accepting visitors.

Tenet-South Carolina, which operates three hospitals in South Carolina, sent out a release late Thursday.

The release said:

“Effective today, March 19th, we are no longer accepting visitors in our hospital. Alternative means of communications between families and patients, such as virtual visitations via Skype, FaceTime, etc., should be facilitated.

“We understand there are situations that may require an exception to this no visitor policy. Our patients have been encouraged to discuss their needs with their care team.”

Other South Carolina hospitals operated by Tenet include Hilton Head Regional Healthcare and East Cooper Medical Center in Mount Pleasant.

South Carolina has more than 80 confirmed cases of coronavirus in 17 counties as of Thursday, according to officials with the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control.
