South Carolina Rep. Tommy Pope, R-York, said right now, it’s important to follow guidance to keep others safe.
“I pray for those who have tested positive, their families and their medical care givers,” Pope said. “For the rest of the community, we need to follow advice, be smart and stay safe.”
South Carolina Rep. Bruce Bryant, R-York, is the retired York County sheriff and spent 44 years as a police officer and first responder. He said he appreciates all the work of first responders in the area.
“I just want to thank all of those who put themselves in harms way to treat and care for those who are suffering from COVID-19,” Bryant said. “ That includes our doctors, nurses and all hospital staff. Also, our first responders and law enforcement who serve on the front lines of this invisible war. While we all are in the wait-and-see mode, we all can pray for not only those who are suffering from the virus but also for our president and our governors who are making decisions to protect us all.”
