The Herald’s redesigned website is “responsive,” which means it fits perfectly on your screen no matter what device you’re using – from a large desktop to a smartphone.

Heraldonline.com has a new look.

The redesigned website makes it much easier for readers to find all of the news, sports, columns and other features that make heraldonline.com the best information source in York, Chester and Lancaster counties. The website also is “responsive,” which means it fits perfectly on your screen no matter what device you’re using – from a large desktop to a smartphone.

Navigating heraldonline.com is simpler now, because the design emphasizes the coverage our readers are most interested in. You can see the main topics on the red navigation bar at the top of the page. (On mobile devices, click on the icon at the upper-left part of the screen, just next to “The Herald.”)

Hover over each topic to get a menu of news topics, services and features. For example, under “News,” you can easily choose local, state, national or world news, as well as a link to live traffic cams in York County, our popular databases, and columns by Andrew Dys. Under “Home,” you can access the latest weather information and our e-edition. Also look for the FAQ link to find more information about heraldonline.com and its new design.

Also under “Home,” you can sign up for our morning, afternoon and breaking news newsletters. Simply enter your email address and click on the newsletters you want to receive.

At the top of the home page, click on the weather graphic for a quick glance at the five-day forecast. Select “more weather” for additional details.

The “Opinion” section provides easy access to The Herald’s editorials, along with many other commentaries from our news services. Choose “Submit a Letter” to send us your opinions about our community or the latest national and international news.

We’re always looking for news tips, and our new design makes it easy for you to send them to us. Go to “Home” and click on “Contact us.” Look for the link for submitting a news tip. You’ll also notice that “Contact us” section gives you easy access to The Herald’s Twitter feed.

The Herald’s sister community news websites also can be easily accessed from our home page. Select “Communities” to find links to stories, photos and videos from the award-winning journalists at the Enquirer-Herald in York and Clover, the Lake Wylie Pilot and the Fort Mill Times.

We realize it might take some time to get used to the new design. But we’re confident you will find it much easier to maneuver. We invite you to alert us to any problems and to submit your feedback. To contact us, look for “Customer Service” at the top of the home page. You’ll see a form on the right side of the page. You’ll have the option of sending feedback to The Herald or our community newsrooms.

The new website is our latest effort to ensure we’re serving readers through a variety of sources, from the newspaper and e-edition to laptops, tablets and smartphones.

Please let us know what you think.
