‘Crying like a baby’: Rock Hill couple scores $250,000 lottery ticket
A Rock Hill couple planned to grill hamburgers for their dinner.
But that was before one local woman came home with a $250,000 winning lottery ticket. Thanks to their unforeseen windfall, the couple, who did not want to be named, say they went out for a steak dinner to celebrate.
“I was gasping for breath and crying like a baby,” the woman told lottery officials.
She earned the payday by picking up the $10 Win Big scratch-off at the Bi-Lo store on East Main Street in Rock Hill. Her husband was waiting for her when she got home with groceries and the ticket.
“This is life changing,” he said.
The couple told lottery officials they are using the winnings to renovate their home.
For selling the claimed ticket, the Rock Hill Bi-Lo received a commission of $2,500.
