Rock Hill celebrates freedom with Juneteenth festival
Juneteenth Rock Hill on Saturday celebrated freedom and emancipation during a festival event with music, arts and more at Mt. Prospect Baptist Church.
Juneteenth is a holiday that commemorates the June 19, 1865, announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas, and more generally the emancipation of African-American slaves throughout the Confederate South.
