Fire in Rock Hill laundromat dryer burns clothes
Two dozen Rock Hill firefighers responded to a Saluda Street laundromat Sunday when a dryer fire burned up a load of laundry.
Three fire engines responded to the Clean Brite Laundromat around 12:45 p.m. after a dryer caught fire and filled the business with smoke.
Crews were soon able to extinguish the flames, containing the damage to one dryer and the unfortunate load of clothes that were inside at the time the blaze ignited.
The interior of the building also suffered some smoke damage, said Battalion Chief Rusty Myers.
Owners of the laundromat could not be reached for comment on Sunday.
