Family of eight displaced in Chester house fire, American Red Cross assisting

A family of eight people was displaced by a house fire on Spring Street in Chester Tuesday morning, officials said.

The fire was responded to by the Chester Fire Department. The people inside the home were able to escape without injury, said department officials and Eddie Murphy, Chester County Emergency Management Director.

The American Red Cross is helping the family with essential needs, Red Cross officials said.
