Red Cross helping Lancaster family after kitchen fire
American Red Cross volunteers are helping a Lancaster family whose home was damaged in a small fire Wednesday, according to a release.
Lancaster Fire Chief Justin McClellan said the small kitchen fire at the Catawba Street home appeared to have been caused by an unattended pot left on the stove.
Volunteers are providing financial assistance to eight adults affected by the fire.
McClellan said there were no injuries and limited damage to the house.
