Rock Hill woman gave $56K to man she met online. He never arrived at airport.

A Rock Hill woman transferred $56,000 to a man she met on PlentyofFish.com, an online dating site. He was supposed to meet her at the Charlotte Douglas Airport Monday, but never showed up, according to a Rock Hill Police Department report.

The woman told police the money was “voluntarily sent” and “under no obligations,” the report says.

She said the man had supposedly been in South Africa since June for work, but that he didn’t fly to Charlotte as planned, the report says.

The woman told police the man isn’t picking up his cell phone, the report says.
