Missed your prom? VFW in Rock Hill offers second chance (but you have to be 21)
For wallflowers who stayed home, or had other reasons to miss their high school prom, Rock Hill’s Veterans of Foreign Wars is giving all a second chance.
A “Second Chance Prom” will be 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday at VFW Post 2889, 732 W. Main St. Rock Hill.
Anyone - not just veterans - is invited. Capacity is 200 people, with tickets on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are $15 for a single, $25 for a couple.
The Theme is “Under the Sea.”
All proceeds go toward VFW community programs. Age is 21 and up.
“This is another way we are trying to bring the community together – and have fun doing it,” said Amber Clark, commander of the post.
A DJ will spin hits dating back to the 1950s through the present, and of course there will be a photo booth. The VFW will provide heavy finger foods, but Clark said she expects many couples to go out to dinner before heading to the prom.
For details, call the VFW after 11 a.m. daily at 803-327-2975.
