Design firm completes Rock Hill’s Legacy Park West industrial project
International design firm Ware Malcomb announced Friday the completion of Rock Hill’s Legacy Park West industrial project at 365 E. Springdale Road in Rock Hill.
Ware Malcomb’s Atlanta office provided architectural design services for the project.
The development includes two speculative industrial buildings totaling 558,000 square feet, with a third building planned for the future.
The first building features 432,000 square feet with a clear height of 32 feet, and the second building is 126,000 square feet with a clear height of 30 feet.
The developer for the project was Scannell Properties, and the general contractor was Evans General Contractors.
Organizational performance expert to hold lecture Sept. 7 at Winthrop
Winthrop University will host organizational performance expert Charles Weathers Sr. for a lecture 6:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at Whitton Auditorium in Vivian M. Carroll Hall on the Rock Hill campus.
Weathers is the founder of The Weathers Group, a nationally recognized consulting firm specializing in developing leaders, relationships and strategies that strengthen organizational performance. The Columbia resident and U.S. Air Force veteran will talk about “Avoiding the Inclusion Illusion.”

United Way of York County receives $20,000 from Wells Fargo
United Way of York County received a $20,000 gift from Wells Fargo during its annual luncheon Aug. 22.
More than 30 York County companies participated in the luncheon at the City of Rock Hill Operations Center. United Way shared information about the organization’s Collective Impact Plan.
“The challenges we face as a community are significant,” said Rebecca Melton, president of United Way of York County. “Wells Fargo’s support will assist in building a strong foundation for students to fulfill their learning potential and supporting individuals through access to job training and higher education, improving access to healthcare and healthy lifestyles, while we promote financial stability efforts.”
The gift will support the United Way’s upcoming effort to provide long-term solutions to complex issues in York County.
“Investing in our communities is one of the most important things we can do as a company,” said Lain Reavis, business banking relationship manager and market president for Wells Fargo in Rock Hill. “We believe we’re responsible for promoting the long-term economic prosperity and quality of life for everyone in our communities. If they prosper, so do we.”

The Carolina Renaissance Festival will hold a job fair 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 8-9 looking for pirates, nobles, wenches and knights at 16445 Poplar Tent Road, Huntersville, N.C.
The 24th annual season runs Saturdays and Sundays, September 30-Nov. 19 offering outdoor theater, circus, arts and crafts fair, jousting tournament and feasts.
The festival hires 350 seasonal employees on an annual basis. Employees will have the opportunity to hawk turkey legs and ale, sell admission tickets and greet guests.
Applicants must have documents showing they are able to work in the United States. Resumes are appreciated, but not required.
