One person dead in York County crash south of Rock Hill
Troopers are investigating a fatal crash Friday morning on S.C. 72 south of Rock Hill that left a 47-year-old person from Chester County dead.
The name and gender of the deceased has not been released by the York County Coroner’s Office.
The crash happened at 5:15 a.m., about three miles south of Rock Hill, in the 4300 block of Saluda Highway, said Trooper Joe Hovis of the S.C. Highway Patrol.
The driver was heading south, crossed the center line, over-corrected, then went off the right side of the road and hit a tree, Hovis said.
The driver died at the scene, troopers and emergency officials said.
