Lancaster woman, 60, identified in fatal crash on county highway

A 60-year-old woman who died Sunday in a single-vehicle crash in Lancaster County has been identified.

Deborah Roberts of Lancaster died at Springs Memorial Hospital about 90 minutes after the crash on S.C. 9, said Jennifer Collins, Lancaster County deputy coroner.

The crash happened about five miles east of Lancaster. Roberts was heading east on the road, also called Pageland Highway, in a 2003 Honda around 5:10 p.m. Sunday when she went off the road and hit a fence and then a tree, said S.,C. Highway Patrol Trooper Joe Hovis. No charges were filed, Hovis said.

Autopsy results are pending.
