All York County government offices were closed Wednesday morning after snow expected to be as much as five inches started to fall, officials said.

The decision was made around 9:45 a.m. All non-essential employees were told to go home, county officials said on the county’s Twitter site.

Tega Cay City Manager Charlie Funderburk said the city is considering a delayed opening tomorrow. In the meantime, “public works will be here around the clock until the weather event is out of here and the roads are clear,” he said.

“The main focus will be making sure public safety is able to respond to all calls for service,” Funderburk said.

The Anne Springs Close Greenway, including the Mary Marner Mack Memorial Dog Park, is closed today and the Recreation Complex on Tom Hall Street closed at 10 a.m.

A fast-moving cold front and storm system is forecast to bring up to 3 to 5 inches of snow Wednesday to York, Chester and Lancaster counties.
