Driver dies, two children injured, in York Co. crash with truck

The driver of an SUV died and two children passengers were injured in a York County crash with a tractor-trailer truck Sunday night outside Rock Hill, troopers said.

The driver’s name has not yet been released. The crashed happened on Rambo Road, which is just south of Rock Hill city limits off S.C. 72.

The crash between a 2002 Honda SUV and the truck happened around 9:20 p.m., said Cpl. Bill Rhyne of the S.C. Highway Patrol. Details of the crash remain under investigation, Rhyne said.

The driver of the Honda was entrapped at first, then taken to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. There were two juveniles in the SUV, police said. Both were taken to Piedmont Medical Center with what Rhyne described as “minor injuries.”

The driver of the truck was not injured, police said.
