Clover man wins $200K lottery, calls ex-wife
A Clover man who has always imagined what it would be like to win the lottery is now $200,000 richer.
The man, who wants to remain anonymous, recently purchased a winning $10 Cash Vault scratch-off ticket from the 7-Eleven on Charlotte Highway in Lake Wylie, according to a press release from lottery officials.
“I thought I’d have a heart attack,” he said in the release.
One of his first calls was to his ex-wife, who remains a good friend.
“He’s a big joker, so I didn’t believe him,” she said.
He showed her the winning ticket and then asked her advice on how to spend it. Together they mapped out a plan. He’s getting a new car and a laptop. Then he’s sending his grandson on a school trip and his granddaughter on a trip with friends.
He’ll save the rest for emergencies.
For selling the claimed ticket, the 7-Eleven store received a commission of $2,000
