National Day of Prayer observances set for Thursday
National Day of Prayer services are planned for Thursday in Rock Hill and Fort Mill to pray for the nation and its leaders.
President Harry Truman signed a bill proclaiming the National Day of Prayer into law in the United States on April 17, 1952. President Reagan amended the law in 1988, designating the first Thursday of May each year as the National Day of Prayer.
Thursday’s observances include:
City of Rock Hill – Noon, Old Town Amphitheater, Black Street behind City Hall
Rock Hill Inter-Faith Community – Noon-1 p.m., Kenneth Monroe Transformation Center, 745 Saluda St.
Town of Fort Mill – 12:20-12:40 p.m., Fort Mill Town Hall, 112 Confederate St.
