Chester mobile home destroyed in fire

A double-wide mobile home in Chester County was destroyed in an early morning fire Wednesday.

Firefighters from the North Chester, West Chester and Lewis fire departments responded to a mobile home fire on Gerard Court off Grant Road at 5:30 a.m.

The homeowner wasn’t home when the fire began, and returned to find the house engulfed in flames, said Ed Darby, Chester County’s deputy emergency management director.

The cause of the fire is undetermined, and county fire investigators were on scene Wednesday morning to find out how the fire began.
